Musings of wedding things..

Greetings, who needs a silly wedding site when you have a free blog. Hellooo.
So it is unbelievable after all these years that Jer and I will finally take the plunge, tie the knot, break the bank...

My idea of a wedding takes place in summer, and has an earthy theme with trees, plants, and green stuff. However, since our dating anniversary is 12/31 we have come to an agreement that it would be neat to get hitched on that anniversary date next year. Which will be our 15th dating anniversary. What a better way than to celebrate that and have a New Years Eve party with our friends and family AND get married while we're at it? So it makes sense.

Now enters my ideas, or lack there of ideas. Since my idea of a wedding is completely opposite of this I am starting over at thinking of what kind of party I would like to have.

Bottom Line:
We want all of our friends and family with us there. That is the most important.
We want to NOT break the bank.
I do not want to be Bridezilla.
We want to have a good time.
We want everyone else to have a good time.

Now that, that is out of the way. Having a good time has numerous angles to focus on. Some peoples definition of having a good time is sleeping. (I must admit, sometimes that is mine too!) So how do I take all these angles and make sure everyone is happy? Truth is, I won't be able to do that. So, that said, I will be planning a party that I think people will enjoy and if they don't, I can't do anything about it.

An Icey Day

I figure I'm good if I come and blog every few months or so! Today we're having an ice into snow storm. It always makes it interesting. I realize my next car will have 4 wheel drive so I feel safer on the roads. I think I'm staying in for the night. I'd like to figure out something to cook for dinner tomorrow but it seems I'm missing at least one ingredient for all the recipes I look at. arg I hate that. And since the weather is less than desirable right now I won't be going to the store any time soon.

Now that I'm home from work and had a snack i usually do some form of either yoga or walking. I have turned more inward with my yoga practice because of the cold weather outside. sometimes I'm more comfortable just staying here and working out with some of the regular yoga pod casts I follow, although I know I need more energetic walking throughout the week.

It has been a struggle to stay exercising.  I have made a commitment to myself to start since May of this year. I have been more active than i have been probably since high school some 12 years ago. It has been a challenge to keep it interesting and to keep my already busy schedule open enough to fit the exercise in. And without seeming conceded like "ooo, I have to go exercise now."

I can feel when my body needs the movement and circulation that exercise gives. And I can tell that if I don't get it I get sore and cranky. Not a happy combo. Not only that I feel agitated and my temper is shorter. So I see the greatness of exercise. I always thought that if I had people to play sports with or to go out and do outdoor activities I'd be able to enjoy myself and do something good for me. But because I am not affiliated with sports nor do I know anyone in this area it's really almost a lost cause. Since I am also not that outgoing or social of a person it is more of a challenge to just go out and play with strangers. I have been toying with the idea of joining a dance class, mainly ballet. I used to dance when I was younger and it was always a way of exercise and expression. I find that even though I am an artist I still don't take the time to draw or paint like I should either. I can just feel when I am not getting that expression outlet. That's almost a whole different subject.

Camping

Can you believe i've still never been camping in my life? I got the closest to it last night. Jer and I went to meet some friends from his old work that were camping in New Glarus Woods State Park last night. It's about a 40 min. drive from us. It was quite cool. They made chili on the fire and we all just sat around and talked. But when it got late we got to go home and sleep indoors :) i'm still so foreign to the camping life. I was supposed to go on a big camping trip for like a week and a half with my college geology class to the rocky mountains in my second year of college. I was excited, mainly because of the photos that i realized i could take and the stuff i would learn about the mountains. But unfortunately i got mono the week before and couldn't go! I just keep thinking there must have been a reason for that. oh well.

Anyway, New Glarus seemed like a cool little town, everything was done up like a little Switzerland. We'll have to go back during the day so i can take pictures. Today we're heading to meet up with Jer's friends at Quivey's Grove in Verona for a beer tasting for Octoberfest. I've heard Quivey's Grove is pretty cool too, it will be fun.

Tuning Into Mars...

This is my second post, I'm such a great blogger.
So many things to do so little time. I'd like to paint and I'd like to play games on pogo, but i in reality i have to go to sleep so i can work tomorrow.

i got my first flat tire while driving on Monday.
i ripped out carpet throughout the house yesterday
i ate corn on the cob for both lunch and dinner today
i have lots of paper on the floor right now
i just wrapped a present
there is a mysterious smell and i can't find the source for the last hour
i forgot to get the mail today
it's hard to keep up with all of my google reader postings
i'd like to get a crank light for emergencies in my car
i really think someone is cooking italian sausage

Nothing to Post Yet

Hi, I am at a loss of words right now. But I do know that I am going to to eat some ice cream. I really am just typing because I just set up my blog and I'd like to see what this looks like when I'm done. By the way, I owe my nice title "The Blog Garden" to Jer, we were brainstorming and he came up with that.

And by the way, looks like we're going to need these for the weather tomorrow....
